The light morning mists of late summer and early autumn, combined with the relatively cool microclimate which exists at the foot of the gently sloping North Downs Way, allows our grapes to develop wonderful aromas which are part of the unique personality and “terroir” of Godstone Wine.
The Deeley family first planted vines at Godstone in 1985 and enjoyed their first vintage in 1988.
The vineyard is set in fifty acres of glorious countryside and the vines are grown on a gentle south-facing slope with free-draining Upper Greensand soil. Three varieties of grapes are grown: Seyval Blanc, Dornfelder, and Bacchus, to produce White, Rosé and Sparkling Wine.
Godstone Wines are grown and vinified in the modern tradition, ensuring that they encapsulate the fresh floral bouquet and crisp acidic finish that you have come to appreciate in English wines. The wines should be enjoyed young, with lighter foods or simply as an aperitif. Click here for our current Wine List.
Discover the quality of our wines prior to making a purchase; our staff will be pleased to help you make your choice. We also have a wide selection of gifts and local produce, whilst our cafeteria serves light lunches, teas and coffees, plus children’s meals. Click here for our Main Menu or Click here for our Children's Menu. We have indoor seating plus a covered terrace for ‘al fresco’ eating and drinking with splendid views towards the Weald.
Our opening hours vary according to the season, so please do check before visiting.
